Washington, DC - Congresswoman Hinson (IA-02) announced the progress of her bipartisan Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act as it advanced through the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee.
The legislation, known as the Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act, aims to amend Title V, the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant of the Social Security Act. This amendment would clarify that stillbirth prevention activities and research are permissible uses of funds. The clarification is expected to bolster stillbirth prevention efforts, ultimately saving the lives of mothers and babies.
Congresswoman Ashley Hinson expressed her commitment to the cause, stating, "Stillbirth is a preventable tragedy that has devastated too many families.
